Designer-picked font pairings available on both Squarespace and Canva

Are you tired of going down the deep hole of font search and still coming out confused and lost about what fonts to use for your brand? Added to the frustration, you realize after finally falling in love and settling with a font set in Squarespace that you can’t find or use the same in Canva to keep your brand cohesive. Bummer!

Take your branding to the next level by choosing the right fonts to use both in Squarespace and Canva. Hand-picked for a variety of brand personality vibes!

Font = Voice + Personality

With the right font pairing, you can add a whole dimension of personality to your brand. Making intentional choices to create a brand identity is an investment and commitment to a larger brand narrative, whether you’re a solo business owner DIY’ing your branding or a beginning designer. So take the time to try out different fonts and choose one or two that will become your personality messenger in letter form. From elegant and sophisticated serifs to bold and modern sans-serifs, each font has its unique voice, capable of evoking emotions and associations.

Staying on brand across platforms

It’s so frustrating to spend a long time searching for your perfect font available on Squarespace, then you realize that you’re not able to use the same fonts on Canva where you go to create visual content for your business. This conundrum can be avoided by choosing the fonts that are found on both platforms!

You wonder, is it that important to stay on-brand? Being intentional and having a longer branding plan in mind is important in creating brand recognition and trust. Think about your client’s journey; they find you on Instagram or Pinterest, or a flyer in a cafe.. and they come to your website to learn more about you. Then they opt-in to receive your freebie as a PDF. All of these brand touch points can feel like a seamless and visually cohesive journey (by using your brand fonts and color palette). If these are a series of first impressions for your future customer or client, then you want to make it a memorable one!

Cool font pairings for Squarespace and Canva

Here are some of my own hand-picked font pairings that you can use for FREE both in Squarespace websites and Canva. Have fun perusing and choosing your brand fonts!

Key rules to font pairing like a seasoned designer

  • Less is more: limit numbers of fonts to 2 kinds. Even within one font, there are variables like weights (italic or bold)

  • Contrast: Mix serif with a sans-serif, or a bolder decorative font with minimal and calm font. Contrast is key to create a dynamic visual language.

  • Legibility: Important that your audience can read across devices. The font should a deliver a feeling and never stand in the way of the actual reading experience.

  • Follow your intuition: it’s not an exact science. You can choose fonts based on how they make you feel.
