Activating your brand

A vision board exercise

The purpose of this visual research is to make the invisible visible.

By seeing the ‘world’ of your brand come to life, you get a sense that the essence is alive, waiting to be expressed!

A vision board is more expansive than a mood board in that, it should capture not only the way it looks, but the thoughts and emotions driving it. So be sure to add words that represent this aspect in there as well!

ACTIVATE THE FREQUENCY – WHAT COMES AFTER THE VISION BOARD?

  • Edit it down to the elements that really speak to you. It’s kind of like playing warm – cold game with your vision board, until you find a sense of coherence.

  • Notice what patterns emerge (Colors, feelings, photography or illustration styles)

  • Use it as a brief when you’re working with a designer or create a simple brand guideline with your findings.
